Tell Your Cat... launches next week!
From s.e. smith, author of All My Dead Cats and Other Losses: Practicing Good Grief in a Culture That Fears Mourning, Tell Your Cat I Said... offers empathetic, friendly, and informative advice every week on some of the biggest decisions pet guardians will make: End-of-life choices for their companion animals.
Tell Your Cat... takes on palliative care, hospice, euthanasia, memorial planning, talking with children about pet loss, navigating conversations around quality of life and disability, and so much more. All from a familiar and trusted friend in the internet who's been offering pet loss support for over 15 years.
I believe conversations about grief and loss should be curious, open-hearted, and serious...but not oppressively somber. We believe in levity, putting the "fun" back in "funeral," and finding small joys, even at dark times, in this household. We should talk about death early, often, and with love, so it's not a stranger when it comes knocking.
My advice comes from a place of deep experience—and features interviews and conversations with death workers, veterinarians, ethicists, and many other supporting characters.
Whether as a reader or question-asker, welcome. As thanks for joining me, everyone who subscribes before April 15, 2026 will be entered to win an advance copy of All My Dead Cats and Other Losses: Practicing Good Grief in a Culture That Fears Mourning, and five of you will receive some very cute stickers!
